The Government of Uttar Pradesh established the YAMUNA EXPRESSWAY INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY, formerly known as TAJ EXPRESSWAY, for the purpose of industrial and urban development in the area. The concept is centred on not only providing a fast-moving corridor to cut travel time between New Delhi and Agra but also on providing the necessary environment and resources in the area to support the growth of tourism, entertainment, and knowledge-based industries. It is India's longest 6-lane (extendable to 8 lanes), 165 km long controlled access expressway stretch. The total project cost was INR128.39 billion (US$2.1 billion). Yamuna Expressway is planned to have 5 LFDs (Land of concessionaire) with facilities of 4 Toll Plazas, and 6 Interchanges along the entire length.

To assure the growth of the bordering region, YAMUNA EXPRESSWAY INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY announced a Residential Scheme 2009(I) that provided Residential Plots in the sizes of 300 Sq.Mtr., 500 Sq.Mtr., 1000 Sq.Mtr., 2000 Sq.Mtr., and 4000 Sq.Mtr. It is a great period to invest in Yamuna Expressway Plots, Film City, Jewar Airport, and Patanjali Store, which are all scheduled to open in the near future.
